THE MERCHANTS AND DROVERS TAVERN MUSEUM RAHWAY, NJ (FIRST INVESTIGATION)
INVESTIGATORS ON SCENE: JOHN, BARRY AND SARA PARANORMAL ACTIVITY REPORTED: This was our first investigation of the Merchants and Drovers Tavern Museum. At this time there was no activity reported. We were interested in the Merchants and Drovers Tavern because it is a historical landmark. With it being local to us we have always had an appreciation for the building as well as for those who support it. EVIDENCE AND PERSONAL EXPERIENCES: * Several EMF spikes * One EVP captured -EVP Clip - John says, "Maybe you visited Rahway or you just stayed at this Tavern a few times when you visited"? This is followed by four or five seconds of silence, then you hear an inaudible whisper.
* Personal Experiences that were later confirmed during the "reveal" with the board members. - While the three of us were investigating together. There were several instances in which we heard the sounds from across the room that sounded as if someone was kicking gravel across the floor. Because it was so dark we were huddled together with a flashlight. The sounds were coming from the opposite side of the basement. After mentioning this to the board members during the reveal, several of them confirmed that they had heard the same thing when they were alone in the basement. - The two video clips and the evp were captured in the same room. We were told by several of the board members at the reveal that the door to that room was known to close on its own once in a while. - The video clips also show us using the "flashlight technique" made famous by Ghost Hunters on the Syfi Channel. Using the technique we were able to communicate with whatever was in the room with us. - The Picture with the ORB was taken in the basement
CONCLUSION: While we were able to capture some activity, there were many outside variables that affected our investigation. That is why we conducted a second, overnight investigation. Only by removing all of the variables that affected the first investigation would we be able to confirm that all of the activity was real.
